1. The 12th Annual Conference of IAPTC was held at the Chilean Joint Peace Operations Centre (CECOPAC), Santiago, Chile from 16-20 Oct 2006. The theme of the conference this year is “The Integrated Mission Approach : Implications for Education and Training”.

2. The conference addressed the current challenges and opportunities of Integration Missions, drawing from the first hand experience of current & past SRSGs, force commanders, police commissioners and renowned practitioners of Rule of Law, Humanitarian and Development agencies, as well as officials from UN-DPKO. Delegates had the opportunity to discuss, in multi-functional groups of Military, Civilian and Police, the implications of these missions for education and training. There were ample opportunities for information exchange in the field of peace operations education and training through bilateral and multilateral exchanges, as well as functional group gatherings and the social program.
